Overview
Remember: 1 to many relationships - one person can have many orders. For what we do, one App ID may have many resources.
TIP: Manage Relationshops is your friend when building relationships.
- Spend time planning your data model before building it.
- Rename EVERYTHING.
- Hide columns you do not need.
- Dont summarize unit prices or IDs.
Enhancing the data mode
- Open Power BI Desktop and load your data tables.
- In the Model view, create relationships between the tables by dragging and dropping fields onto each other.
- Define the cardinality and cross-filter direction for each relationship as needed.
- Use DAX to create calculated columns and measures that enhance your data model.
- Build visualizations on top of your data model in the Report view.
